In South Jersey, residents will have several opportunities throughout the month to claim tree seedlings that they can plant on their private property. The seedlings, provided by the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign and the New Jersey State Forestry Services, can't be used to replace destroyed trees on public locations.
On Saturday, Burlington County residents can pick up tree seedlings at the Hainesport Public Works Building and the Mount Holly Township parking lot. The following weekend, Atlantic County will host the tree giveaway at the Estell Manor Park Nature Center, and Camden County will do the same at Haddon's Westmont Theatre parking lot. Ocean County also will hold an event at the Island Heights municipal parking lot, among other locations.
A complete list of times and locations for the tree giveaway program can be found here.
