A Runnemede family was able to escape a blaze in their home early Friday thanks to the quick response of their dog, 6ABC reports.
According to 6ABC, the fire started in the basement of the home and quickly spread as the family slept. The homeowners were alerted by the dog's barking and were able to escape with their pet in tow, 6ABC reports.
Emergency responders reported to the scene at around 2 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
