A soldier from Camden was one of two military members killed in Hawaii on Saturday after a large wave pulled him into the water, according to local media reports.
Spc. Shyheim Andrews, 21, of Camden, was killed along with Caleb Collins, 22, of Florida. A wave pulled Andrews into the water while the two were hiking at Halona Beach Park, according to Hawaii News Now. Collins jumped in to help and also died. A third man with the group survived the ordeal.
Andrews and Collins were motor vehicle operators stationed at Schofield Barracks on the island.
The bodies of both men were recovered on Sunday. The men were assigned to the 524th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 25th Sustainment Brigade, 25th ID, according to WHON 2.
