Authorities in Montgomery County have arrested and charged a Skippack man for allegedly possessing and disseminating child pornography, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
According to investigators, 52-year-old William Davis was detected during an undercover operation by the East Norriton Township Police Department. Detectives allegedly noticed that Davis' computer was configured to anonymously share files with others.
When investigators connected directly to Davis' network, they said they located 73 sexually explicit files, including 24 allegedly depicting children under the age of 18 engaged in sexual acts or poses. The computer was traced to Davis' home, police said, where investigators executed a search warrant and seized the device.
Forensic examiners later allegedly found another 19 sexually explicit images and videos of child pornography on the computer, prosecutors said.
Davis was arrested Dec. 1 and released on $5,000 unsecured bail after his arraignment. He faces multiple felony charges of dissemination of child pornography, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.
