First, the bad news: While we were recording today’s podcast, top overall pick Ben Simmons rolled his right ankle while scrimmaging at the end of today’s practice. The Sixers, extremely cautious by nature, elected to give the Simmons a scan:

We’ll learn more about Simmons later, but the development puts his status for next Tuesday’s game against the Boston Celtics in doubt. Brett Brown told reporters on hand at Stockton earlier today that both Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor will be available the preseason opener. After reducing their workloads at training camp, that is good news.
Anyway, Philly Mag’s Derek Bodner and I spent a half hour talking about Embiid, Sergio Rodriguez, and other takeaways from Sixers training camp this week.
