Many times over at Sixers Beat HQ, we spend a little time organizing that day’s podcast before stepping out onto the airwaves. Well, that wasn’t the case today as my notes roughly read “Joel Embiid, Joel Embiid, and then Joel Embiid.”
We had a full house for some hoops talk as Philly Mag's Derek Bodner and Liberty Ballers' Kyle Neubeck and Max Rappaport joined me to talk about the suddenly red-hot Philadelphia professional basketball team. Topics included:
• The Sixers are rolling, and that is primarily because Embiid’s impact as a rookie is far greater than anyone could have imagined. What else can we expect from “The Process?”
• The Lakers and Kings aren’t playing so hot lately, which might qualify as an understatement. With the way that the Sixers are playing, could the pick swap be a legit possibility in this year’s NBA Draft?
• And then we talked about Embiid some more. Can he lead the Sixers to the playoffs? Is he going to be an all-star? Where does he rank among the league’s top players? Pretty much everything was on the table.
