After the NBA Draft shook out, ’s first haul as the Sixers’ lead decision maker looked a lot like a Sam Hinkie draft. The Sixers went with upside over fit with the first pick, and then they at the very least bolstered their international pipeline with the 24th and 26th picks. On paper, basketball writers generally liked what Colangelo was able to get done.
(He might have dodged a bullet to get there, but it’s tough to argue with the result.)
