Last month, "Sesame Street" debuted a new muppet, Julia, who has autism, on its show.

Now, Julia is moving beyond the screen to meet new friends and fans who also have special needs at an event at Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

On Saturday, April 22, Sesame Place will host a special day for children with special needs in collaboration with Variety, a children’s charity of the Delaware Valley that serves people with special needs.

The event will include a meet-and-greet with Julia, who will be making her debut at the Sesame Street theme park, along with special accommodations throughout the park for people with autism, like noise adjustments, designated quiet areas and low-sensory character shows.

The event will be free for Variety members who use their ID to register. More information on registration for the event can be found at VarietyPhila.org.
