A man was fatally struck by a SEPTA train in North Philly late Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for the transportation agency said the unidentified male victim was hit and killed by a Regional Rail train on the tracks north of the Fern Rock Station around 11:50 a.m.
It was not immediately clear why the man was on the tracks.
BSL: All Regional Rail service north of Fern Rock Transportation Center is suspended due to a fatality.

Service on the Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster and West Trenton lines has been suspended north of Fern Rock as a result of the incident.
SEPTA expects those lines to be up and running again around 2:30 p.m.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
