SEPTA announced that public transit riders should expect delays and crowded trains Tuesday, due to operations reverting to a Saturday schedule — with less frequent trains and buses.

Jerri Williams, SEPTA's director of media relations, said folks should expect a busier-than-usual rush between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Williams added that operations managers are monitoring crowds and will add additional services when overcrowding is present.

In an email, she reminded riders that normal service will be restored on Wednesday:

Regional Rail service will return back to normal weekday schedules and Cynwyd Line service will operate [Wednesday]. All transit modes resumed normal weekday schedules at the start of [Tuesday's] service.
