SEPTA announces weekend route changes for Philadelphia Marathon

SEPTA has announced detours for more than 30 bus and trolley routes this weekend due to the Philadelphia Marathon and Half Marathon.

The 2016 Philadelphia Marathon is Sunday, with a start and finish in the area of 22nd Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The Half Marathon, Rothman 8K and Kids Run are on Saturday. SEPTA routes will be affected by both events.


WHERE TO WATCH THE 2016 PHILADELPHIA MARATHON


The SEPTA detours are as follows:

Saturday:

From 4 a.m. to 1 p.m., routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43 and 48 will operate with detours around the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Then, beginning at 6 a.m. and until the races conclude, the following routes will also be detouring: 2, 4, 16, 17, 23, 27, 31, 44, 45, 47, 47M, 61, 124 and 125.

Half Marathon detours are expected to end at approximately 9:30 a.m., when buses will return to their regular routes.

Sunday:

Detours will begin at 2 a.m. for bus routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43 and 48 to accommodate race-day preparations.

Routes K, R, 2, 4, 5, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 31, 35, 40, 42, 44, 47, 47M, 57, 61, 64, 65, 124 and 125 will also begin detours at 6 a.m. and will remain so through the conclusion of the race events on Sunday afternoon.

In addition, buses will replace trolleys on routes 10 and 15 to accommodate detours.
