The storybook "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle is a childhood classic that has managed to entertain children since its publication in the 1960s. The story is simple -- a caterpillar eats its way through a variety of food before turning into a butterfly -- but the distinctive collage illustrations, mixed with simple text and educational themes, has resonated with many.
Now, the classic story will be shared on stage at the Merriam Theater on Sunday, Feb. 21. "The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favorites" will have two showtimes, one at 11 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale starting at $17.50 per person.
