The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education has been around for 50 years, and to celebrate their anniversary, they're hosting a picnic Saturday, June 27. Weaver's Way Co-op will present a barbecue meal, and guests will experience crafts, live music by Sarah and the Arrows, interactive art, hikes and s'mores. Guests can make a "seed bomb" (a clay ball filled with seeds) and leave thoughts with the SCEE's time capsule, too.
Picnic-goers are also encouraged to sign up for the 11th Annual Great American Backyard Campout that night. Thanks to partner the Natural Wildlife Federation, families will be spending a night under the stars. There will be stories told around the campfire, hiking, canoeing and meetings with animals from the Schuylkill Center Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic.
A picnic dinner and breakfast are included in the campout admission. Pre-registration is required for the campout and suggested for the picnic. Guests can either bring their own tent or rent one from the SCEE.
