A number of schools in several states in the Northeast received threats of violence Tuesday.
The Chichester School District was evacuating students from its schools after a “non-specific” threat was received at a neighborhood firehouse, CBSPhilly reports.
Police and bomb-sniffing dogs were called to go through the schools. Affected buildings include the Boothwyn Elementary, Hilltop Elementary, Linwood Elementary, Marcus Hook Elementary and the Chichester Middle School and Chichester High School.
WCBS in New York reports that bomb threats were reported at several schools in New Jersey. New Jersey officials said schools in Teaneck, Garfield, Tenafly, Clifton, Fair Lawn, Leonia, Bergenfield, Englewood and Hackensack received threats.
Delaware State Police said they were investigating threats at three schools in Delaware, including Long Neck Elementary School in Millsboro, Woodbridge High School in Greenwood and Silverlake Elementary School in Middletown.
Rehoboth Elementary School in Rehoboth Beach also received a threatening message, according to NBC10.
Students were also evacuated Tuesday from at least five schools in Massachusetts.
