Savory Caramel Popcorn — makes 6 servings (1.5 cups each)

Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
• 2 tablespoons of honey
• 1 tablespoon of white miso
• ½ cup of popcorn kernels, unpopped
• 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once hot (about 15 seconds) add the popcorn. Cover and shake the pot constantly, keeping contact with the burner, to mix the ingredients and keep them from burning. Continue shaking the popcorn through the popping. Once the popping slows to about 3 seconds between each pop, remove from heat. Continue shaking until the popping has stopped. Pour into a large bowl.
  2. Heat the honey and miso in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until combined. Pour over popcorn and toss. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  3. Handy Hint: Spray the serving bowl with a little bit of cooking oil to prevent the popcorn from sticking to the sides.
