Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Philly’s favorite underdog at a screening of "Rocky."
In honor of the iconic Philly film's 40th anniversary, Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) will host a screening of "Rocky" on Sept. 21.
Inspired by a 1975 fight between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, Sylvester Stallone decided to write a screenplay on an underdog fighter given the rare chance to compete for a heavyweight title.
A beer provided by Yards Brewing Company and a soft pretzel from Philly Pretzel Factory are included with the price of admission. Tickets are $6.50 for BMFI members, $10 for students and seniors and $12.50 for general admission.
It really doesn't get more quintessentially "Philly" than Rocky Balboa, soft pretzels and beer.
Wednesday, Sept. 21
