The Ride Indego Philly bike share program launched in April.
In honor of National Bike To Work Day on Friday, Independence Blue Cross is offering $1 Indego rides to kick off Independence Dollar Days.
The new Independence Dollar Days initiative will allow riders to use the bike share program, Indego, at a reduced rate.
Riders who purchase trips with a credit or debit card at any station kiosk will pay just $1 for the first 30 minutes, instead of the normal price of $4, according to Indego's Tumblr page. Trips longer than 30 minutes will be charged the normal rate of $4 per half hour.
Friday's event will kick off Independence Dollar Days, which will occur on the first Tuesday of every month moving forward.
Current members should note that Independence Dollar Days will not work with an Indego Key. Trips must be purchased with a credit card at any station to take advantage of the offer.
