Time to go for a run.

Often, New Year's resolutions involve some kind of get-fit, get-healthy goal. The truth is that change is hard, though, so frequently, there's never any follow-through.

To make 2017 different, Philadelphia Runner and running shoe brand HOKA are starting the new year with the Resolution Run. It's free to attend; just make sure to register.

Beginning at 11 a.m., participants will head out from 1601 Sansom St. for a short jog through Center City. The loop will finish back at the Philadelphia Runner shop, where a post-run party will take place.

All runners will write down their 2017 goals -- no matter how big or how small -- then Philadelphia Runner will answer any questions on how to accomplish them.

There will also be food, drinks and a few prizes handed out at the party.

To really help Resolution Run participants stick to their new year intentions, Philadelphia Runner will host an ongoing social media challenge.

By posting progress pictures to social media, participants will be in the running to win prizes. Specific details will be announced at the post-run party.
