Across the Delaware Valley, the King of Prussia mall is widely regarded as the region's premier shopping destination, complete with a new expansion and a broad selection of food court stops and stands.
As anyone who braves the crowds knows, the King of Prussia Mall is also a madhouse during peak shopping and retail sale events, such as Black Friday and the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Shoppers were in for a scary surprise Sunday afternoon when a power outage cut the lights to the mall's "Plaza" section, according to NBC10.
A PECO spokesperson told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the blackout, which started around 2:15 p.m. and lasted about half an hour, was caused by a momentary outage in power circuit. About 50 out of the mall's more than 400 stores were impacted.
One Facebook user posted a video from the darkened scene.
There were no injuries or evacuations during Sunday's incident.
