An investigation is underway after Philadelphia police fatally shot an allegedly armed suspect in North Philadelphia on Monday night.
According to authorties, the incident took place after an unidentified suspect opened fire on a 44-year-old victim around 5:50 p.m. on the 700 block of West Clearfield Street, according to NBC10.
Officers who responded to the scene reportedly pursued the suspect and fired at him on 900 block of Clearfield Street, connecting at least once. The suspect later died of his injuries.
The victim in the initial shooting was transported to Temple University Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Police said further information about the shooting will released upon further investigation.
