A woman is reportedly suing Starbucks for $5 million over the amount of ice in customers' iced beverages, according to Courthouse News Service.
Stacey Pincus filed a class action lawsuit last week against the coffee chain in Northern Illinois Federal Court.
Pincus claims that customers who order cold drinks receive less than the advertised amount due to ice taking up space in cups. The suit also claims that Starbucks charges more for cold drinks despite cold drinks containing less of the product.
"In essence, Starbucks is advertising the size of its cold drink cups on its menu, rather than the amount of fluid a customer will receive when they purchase a cold drink — and deceiving its customers in the process," the class-action lawsuit states, according to the report.
Starbucks is accused of breach of express warranty, breach of implied warrant of merchantability, negligent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment and fraud.
