According to Derrick Gunn of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, the Eagles have agreed on a one-year deal with cornerback Nolan Carroll, who was an unrestricted free agent.

Carroll, 29, opened the season as a starter opposite Byron Maxwell, but was lost for the year with an ankle injury suffered during the Eagles' loss to the Lions on Thanksgiving. Carroll earned the starting job over rookie Eric Rowe during training camp, and played well under the direction of defensive backs coach Cory Undlin.
In 2015, Carroll had 57 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown against the Giants. He was also widely regarded as a positive locker room influence.
Rowe will likely start at one cornerback spot. The other spot could be up for grabs, with the Eagles already having signed former Bills corners Leodis McKelvin and Ron Brooks. They also still have Jaylen Watkins, JaCorey Shepard, Randall Evans, and Denzel Rice on the roster. The Eagles may not have star power at corner, but it appears they'll have solid depth.
