Report: Mike Huckabee paying $25,000 for playing 'Rocky III' theme song

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is reportedly paying a hefty price for playing the "Rocky III" theme song at a rally.

According to CNNMoney, the former Republican presidential candidate is on the hook for $25,000 for using Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" without permission in 2015.

The song was played at a rally to celebrate the release of Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who spent six days in jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Rude Music, the publishing company that owns the rights to the song, sued Huckabee in November claiming the campaign infringed on the copyright.

The parties settled out of court, but CNN learned the details of the settlement due to federal election records. The Huckabee campaign listed the financial settlement as a campaign expense.

The song was popularized in the 1982 movie "Rocky III" and nominated for a 1983 Grammy Award.
