Report: Jay Wright is top choice to fill Phoenix Suns head-coaching vacancy

Back in 2009, Jay Wright was close to leaving Villanova and becoming head coach of the Sixers. He had serious discussions with Ed Stefanski, the team’s president at the time and his neighbor in Wayne, before ultimately deciding that he wanted to stay at 'Nova:

Fresh off winning a national title, Wright is a hotter commodity than ever. The Inquirer’s Mike Sielski wrote a column about the potential choice he will have to make about the NBA after the season, and according to Mitch Lawrence of Sirius XM NBA, one franchise is already very interested in Wright:

Earl Watson has been the Suns interim coach since February, right after Phoenix fired Jeff Hornacek. The Suns are 20-58 (so they will pick high in the draft) and rookie Devin Booker has shown a ton of promise.

Still, it would be very surprising if lowly Phoenix was the team able to pry Wright away from a great situation at home on the Main Line.
