Eagles safety Earl Wolff missed the entirety of OTAs and minicamp, and has recently missed time during training camp, as well as the first preseason game against the Colts. According to Tim McManus of Birds 24/7, the Eagles waived/injured Wolff.

Wolff was squarely in Chip Kelly's doghouse, as Kelly's quotes got progressively worse from training camp last year up until yesterday. The worst of Kelly's quotes about Wolff occurred during OTAs in June, when Kelly said, "Earl has done nothing except stretch. So there is no progress right now... He's been cleared from Dr. Andrews a couple weeks ago, but it's about what he can tolerate."
Walter Thurmond has been the clear starter at safety opposite Malcolm Jenkins for the entirety of training camp. The Eagles' reserves at safety are Chris Maragos, Chris Prosinski, Ed Reynolds and Jerome Couplin, all of whom have a chance to win a roster spot. Maragos is a lock as a standout special teams player, with Prosinski filling a similar role. The other two safeties, Reynolds and Couplin, could vie for the primary backup spot in the regular defense. Reynolds had two interceptions against the Colts last Sunday, and the Eagles thought enough of Couplin to sign him to their 53-man roster from the Lions' practice squad a year ago.
