Hey hey, the Philadelphia Eagles finally did something! Late Wednesday night, on Day 2 of the most boring free agency tampering period ever, it was reported by ESPN's Dan Graziano that the Eagles signed linebacker Najee Goode.

Adam Caplan says the deal is for one year, 875,000, $50,000 of which is guaranteed.
A season ago, Goode was second on the team with 10 special teams tackles.
Player | Special teams tackles |
Chris Maragos | 11 |
Najee Goode | 10 |
Kamu Grugier-Hill | 7 |
Goode has been with the team (on and off the roster) since 2013, serving as a special teams contributor, and depth at linebacker. The Eagles' depth at linebacker presently looks something like this:
OLB | ILB | OLB |
Nigel Bradham | Jordan Hicks | Mychal Kendricks |
Najee Goode | Stephen Tulloch | Kamu Grugier-Hill |
Joe Walker |
Stephen Tulloch is a free agent, unlikely to re-sign with the team, and as we reported a month ago, the Eagles are trying to trade Mychal Kendricks. Goode is a player who will have to compete for roster spot in training camp, as he does every year, but clearly the Eagles need linebacker depth.
