Philadelphia Eagles rookie wide receiver Ainias Smith is headed to injured reserve, according to a report from Zach Berman of PHLY.
Eagles WR Ainias Smith will be placed on injured reserve following MRI results that revealed an ankle injury with an expected recovery of 4-6 week, according to a league source.

Smith will be eligible to be designated for return this season.

Hmm, wonder where he got that scoop.
Smith had a bad spring and a disappointing start to training camp, but he started to play better late in the summer. He seemed destined to survive cuts as a result, but also did not feel like a player ready to contribute anytime soon. By landing on IR, the Eagles will save a roster spot while also being able to keep Smith.
