Eagles DT Bennie Logan is moving on from Philadelphia, as expected. After visiting the division rival Washington Redskins, Logan agreed to terms with Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Adam Schefter.
As with many other deals in free agency this offseason, Logan signed just a one-year deal, which means that he'll face the prospect of free agency once again at the end of the 2017 season.
This past offseason, the Eagles handed out a lot of shiny new contract extensions to players already on the roster, such as Zach Ertz, Lane Johnson, Sam Bradford, Vinny Curry, Fletcher Cox, and Malcolm Jenkins. One notable omission from the Eagles' attempts to secure their own players was Logan.

After having success in both 4-3 and 3-4 schemes, it was expected that Logan would receive his share of interest from around the league. While the defensive tackle market did not heat up as expected, Logan presumably found a better offer in Kansas City than he did in Philadelphia, where Logan said he hoped he could stay.
The Eagles' depth chart at defensive tackle now looks something like this:
1 | 2 | 3 | |
DT | Fletcher Cox | Destiny Vaeao | Justin Hamilton |
DT | Beau Allen | Aziz Shittu |
There are still some decent defensive tackle options available in free agency, and certainly, the position could be addressed in the draft, but clearly the Eagles now lack depth.
In his four-year career with the Eagles, Logan had 163 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
