In the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, Nakobe Dean injured his foot and did not return. According to a report from Ian Rapoport, Dean will miss multiple weeks with his injury.

The Eagles only have two other off-ball linebackers on their 53-man roster, Zach Cunningham and Christian Elliss. They do also have Nicholas Morrow on the practice squad.

Dean did not stand out in a good or bad way throughout the first few weeks of training camp, and he missed a couple of weeks with an injury. However, he made a big play when he forced a goal line fumble in the Eagles' second preseason game against the Browns, and he was very active and around the ball a lot in joint practices against the Colts. He closed camp on a high note.

Against the Patriots, the Eagles struggled covering the middle of the field, particularly in the second half, with Dean out, as tight ends Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki combined for 8 catches for 92 yards and a TD on 9 targets. On Thursday night, the Eagles will face the Minnesota Vikings, who have a good receiving tight end in T.J. Hockenson.
