A seventh-round pick, linebacker Joe Walker was proof that the Eagles weren't going to stop picking Oregon players after Chip Kelly left. After a solid training camp, Walker figured to play a role on the 2016 team on special teams and as a backup in Jim Schwartz's 4-3 scheme.
According to the Daily News' Les Bowen, though, Walker will miss his rookie season after tearing his ACL in Pittsburgh on Thursday night:
Understand Joe Walker did suffer ACL tear, MRI confirmed. Out for season. Aaron Grymes AC sprain on his int., might miss rest of preseason.

Even before the injury, the Eagles linebacking corps didn't have much depth. The Eagles have been linked to former Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch, and you have to wonder if losing Walker for the season will prompt Howie Roseman and the front office to acquire a depth piece.
