According to the Redskins' team website, "the Redskins are taking a 'cautious approach' with Reed, as he is currently being evaluated for a concussion after feeling some symptoms during the team’s Tuesday afternoon walkthrough."
This is particularly troubling because of the player involved, as Reed has suffered a dangerous number of concussions over the last five years.
It is perhaps even more troubling that Reed's concussion symptoms emerged without any known specific blow to his head.
On the season, Reed has 33 catches for 316 yards and 2 TDs. In the Eagles' Week 16 game against the Redskins last season in which the Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention, Reed caught 9 passes for 129 yards and 2 TDs.
If Reed cannot go, the Redskins' backup tight ends are Vernon Davis and Niles Paul.
