Police in Radnor Township are investigating to determine who was behind a lewd Instagram account that stole photos of underage girls and reposted them with sexually explicit captions.

Authorities say the account, which has been deactivated, stole innocent photos posted by more than 20 girls and then reposted them with graphic descriptions, 6 ABC reports.

Officials with the Radnor Township School District confirmed that some of the victims were students at Radnor Middle School.

To address the fears of parents, officers held a private meeting at the Radnor Police Department to discuss what was found and to give assurance that an investigation is underway.

Detectives are reportedly working with Instagram to determine who was behind the account.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Radnor police at 610-688-0503.
