Radio 104.5 has announced
the lineup for its first Summer Block Party of the season. Sunday, May 3, indie rock band
The Airborne Toxic Event and singer-songwriter
Banks will headline the free outdoor concert at Festival Pier.
Welsh rock band Catfish and the Bottlemen and alt rockers Bad Suns will also perform.
Each show in Radio 104.5's Summer Block Party series has a local opener.
Mo Lowda & the Humble, an alternative rock trio formed at Temple University, will open for the May 3 show.
The Summer Block Parties occur once a month from May through September. Each show is free and open to all ages, but tickets are required. Tickets can be won through Radio 104.5 contests or downloaded online while supplies last.
"Golden Tickets," which allow ticket holders to attend each Block Party of the year, can also be won through Radio 104.5 contests.
The concert series was previously held at the Piazza at Schmidts but has since moved to Festival Pier due to increased demand and
raucous concert-goers.
