Countless protests across the United States have been organized in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election. While nearly all of them expressed opposition to the winner, an upcoming rally in the Philadelphia suburbs will display a show of support for President Donald Trump.
The event was organized by People4Trump in Southeast Pennsylvania as part of the Spirit of America rallies that are taking place this week nationwide. The local demonstration is scheduled to be held Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at Neshaminy State Park in Bucks County.
The activist group was founded by Jim Worthington, who was a delegate at the Republican National Convention.
"This sign waving rally will be peaceful, positive, patriotic, uplifting, and open to anyone that supports an America First agenda," organizers said in a statement.
The rally will be hosted by Erin Elmore, a political correspondent Trump spokesperson, and former contestant on "The Apprentice."
Speakers for the rally have yet to be announced.
The national effort was created in response to anti-Trump conducted following his electoral victory. "Unlike those protesting against President Trump's vision, we are a diverse coalition that are the heart and soul of America that wants our nation to fulfill our potential, as the greatest nation on God's green earth!" national organizers wrote.
