Riders of SEPTA's Regional Rail lines are enduring a frustrating Monday commute due to power problems.
But SEPTA announced via Twitter about 1:20 p.m. that regular service has resumed. Residual delays were expected as normal operations ramped back up.
According to officials, an overhead power problem near the Jenkintown–Wyncote station in Montgomery County caused delays up to two hours.
The issues affected inbound service on the Warminster, West Trenton, Lansdale/Doylestown and Airport lines. All trains boarded on the outbound platforms while workers repaired the problem.
At 8:39 a.m., SEPTA warned riders that the power problem was affecting service throughout the Regional Rail system.
On one Doylestown line train headed into the city mid-morning, several Temple University students were lamenting the delays – they were trying to get to campus to take final exams.
Predictably, many riders were upset about the delays:
Hey @SEPTA_SOCIAL, What's dark, humid, and smells like angry old man? This train that hasn't moved in over an hour.

Hey @septa_social I'm on train dead on the tracks at Jenkintown. Do I at least get my fare back? I've been standing for over an hour.

@SEPTA @septa_social It's really frustrating when there aren't any updates for the stuck passengers. No updates in 40 minutes.

@SEPTA your new catchphrase should be "Making Mondays worse!" Because that's what you do.
