More than 1,400 PECO customers in Northern Liberties were left without power Tuesday afternoon after two outages were reported in the area.
A representative for PECO said that outages were caused by a piece of insulation coming into contact with power lines and starting a fire.
Crews were able to restore service in the area within an hour.
The outages did not affect any polling stations, including the location at the Community Center at 700 N. Third Street. A spokesperson for the Committee of Seventy said the even in the event of a power outage, voting booths have backup battery power that can last up to a few hours.
