Police: Woman's throat slashed in bar fight at Fiddler's Green Tavern

Investigators say incident occurred around 2 a.m. at bar on 7300 block of Frankford Avenue

Philadelphia police are investigating after a woman had her throat slashed during a bar fight early Sunday morning at Fiddler's Green Tavern in the Mayfair section of the city.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 2 a.m. at the bar on the 7300 block of Frankford Avenue, 6 ABC reports.

Police described a scene in which multiple people engaged in a heated argument. At one point, a suspect smashed a bottle and slashed the neck of a 37-year-old female victim, who was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators later said the victim was dancing with another patron at the bar when the suspect, whom she knew, first struck her in the head with a beer bottle. She continued to swing at her with the broken glass, cutting her neck and face. 

Authorities continue to search for the suspect.
