Authorities in Delaware County have a suspect in custody after a teenager was stabbed in the neck Wednesday afternoon as he exited a SEPTA bus in Springfield Township.
According to authorities, the incident occurred after the victim, an 18-year-old from Upper Darby, stepped off the bus at Baltimore Pike and Church Road, CBS 3 reports.
Police say the teenager was stabbed twice in the neck without provocation by a 67-year-old male suspect who was held at the scene by a Widener security guard until police arrived and took him into custody.
The victim was transported to Delaware County Memorial Hospital to be treated for superficial wounds.
While police haven't determined a motive in the stabbing, authorities say the suspect has a history of mental health issues.
