Police are searching for a man accused of stealing a city vehicle from a municipal parking lot.
The incident occurred Thursday around 2:30 p.m. at the Bridge Maintenance Unit located at 4010 Whitaker Ave. in North Philadelphia.
Authorities say an unknown man walked into the lot and attempted to enter several vehicles. According to authorities, the man eventually gained entry to a city of Philadelphia-owned pickup truck and drove away while the city employee was inside the building.
The suspect is described as a white man with red hair. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, blue jean shorts and a tan hat.
The vehicle is a white 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup truck with Pennsylvania license plate MG-7186D.
