A PNC Bank on Market Street was robbed Monday afternoon and police believe that the man responsible also robbed another Center City bank less than two weeks ago.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI, a man -- who matched the description of a suspect sought in an earlier crime - walked into a PNC Bank branch located at 400 Market Street, at about 1:47 p.m. on Monday, handed a note to a teller and made a verbal demand for cash.
After he was given an undisclosed amount of money, the wanted individual - described as a black male in his late 40s to early 50s, standing about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, with a medium build - fled on foot, headed south along 4th Street.
During the crime, the wanted male wore a light gray hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, and black and white Puma sneakers, police said.
Law enforcement officials believe the wanted man is the same individual also responsible for the April 29 robbery of the Citizens Bank branch located at 1515 Market Street.
Anyone with information on this suspect is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
