Officials are investigating an alleged robbery and police-involved shooting Tuesday in Atlantic City, NBC10 reports.
Police responded to a robbery call in Cedar Market at Pennsylvania and Adriatic avenues around 9 a.m.
Sources told NBC10 that a man used a knife to stab a 29-year-old employee during a robbery; the employee died from his injuries.
The store owner told 6ABC that the suspect allegedly said, "One down, two to go."
Police were then called to the scene, and as officers arrived they spotted the suspect running across Adriatic Avenue. The suspect was intercepted by an officer, who fired several shots at him.
The suspect fell after he was hit by gunfire. There was no word on his condition.
According to 6ABC, the employee who was killed was in his second day on the job.
NBC10 reports that two people were killed in the incident. Officials did not confirm whether the suspect died.
No officers were injured. The incident is under investigation.
