Police in Montgomery County are investigating a possible sexting ring at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School after a parent notified authorities of inappropriate images found on her daughter's cell phone.
A spokesman for Colonial School District said the concerned mother contacted school officials Wednesday, which led to police involvement, 6ABC reports.

Authorities confirmed that some images had been posted to a Dropbox account, but investigators were still attempting to determine the extent to which the images were shared.
Police said the investigation is in its initial stage and that they will be thorough in their search for information. The Plymouth-Whitemarsh school board and staff members received a letter from the school district addressing the issue.
The incident comes just weeks before the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office was scheduled to speak to students and staff members about sexting and social media on December 3 and 7.
No arrests have been made and the school district is cooperating with police in the investigation.
