Philadelphia Police told 6abc.com that a 52-year-old man allegedly assaulted a female off-duty officer from Bucks County in a road rage incident on Wednesday evening.
The altercation happened at around 6:30 p.m. when the officer and the alleged perpetrator both exited their vehicles during a disagreement involving their driving. There is no word on what led to the argument.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told 6abc that according to the female officer, the man then punched her in the face and fled, leading to a chase between the two.
The officer, who is from the Lower Makefield department, reportedly called police while on chase.
Officers arrived soon after and took the suspect into custody. Neither the name of the officer or the alleged perpetrator have been released, and there is no word on charges at this time.
