An investigation into sewing needles reportedly found in several pieces of Halloween candy in Chester County’s Kennett Square area has found the claims were unfounded, according to the Chester County district attorney.

The children who reported the alleged incident have recanted their statements, and the investigation was unfounded, Chester County DA Thomas Hogan said in a statement.
Kennett Square police said they received a report of a "needle-type" item allegedly discovered inside the wrappers of five Twix bars distributed to four different kids somewhere in the Stenning Hills neighborhood on Nov. 1.
