Police: Bensalem teen sells pot brownies to middle school students

High school student charged after alleged drug distribution

A Bensalem teenager is in custody after admitting to selling brownies laced with marijuana to middle school students, according to police.

Authorities announced Monday that Jacob Francisco, a Bensalem High School student, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver, corruption of minors and related offenses for allegedly distributing five of the drug-filled sweets to a student at Robert K. Shafer Middle School, who subsequently resold them to other students, police say. The reseller is a juvenile and is not being identified.

Francisco -- who is 18, according to 6ABC -- was arrested after police were tipped off about the pot brownies Friday.

In a letter to parents, Shafer Principal William J. Incollingo said the school's staff immediately began investigating after becoming aware of the alleged drug sales.

Incollingo encouraged parents to discuss the "difficult issue" of drug use with their children and to access educational material about marijuana online at drugfree.org.

Police say the school district has cooperated fully with their investigation.

Francisco was arraigned and jailed at Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
