Police: Arrest made in Chestnut Hill home invasion and sexual assault

A person is in police custody in a case involving an alleged home invasion and sexual assault in Chestnut Hill over the weekend, police told 6ABC.

The identity of the person is custody has not yet been released. 

Police have been searching for a suspect since Saturday when a 56-year-old female victim reported that she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in front of her husband by a man who had broken into their home while they were asleep.

At the time, the suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25 and about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a clean-shaven face. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The suspect also reportedly fled the scene with the victims' 2017 Hyundai Elantra, keys, wallets and a cellphone.
