April 22, 2016
Beginning Monday, April 25, the Comcast Center's West Plaza will be taken over by a Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) designed garden for five days. The display will celebrate Comcast Cares Day and feature 100 grape hyacinths, 100 yellow daffodils, wheat grass and river birch trees.
Throughout the week, several public events will occur at the garden, including:
• On April 25, from 11 a.m. to noon, two 30-minute yoga sessions will be held in the garden. The sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis and have limited spots.
• On April 26, from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., David Bromstad, winner of the first season of HGTV’s "Design Star" and host of "Color Splash," will visit the garden.
• On April 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Kale Ale and Ginger Mellon refreshments will be distributed at the garden.
Those near Center City's Comcast Center may want to start planning for a week of lunch breaks among the daffodils.
