Winter Storm Petra has arrived in Philadelphia, and the snow is falling across the region. With accumulations predicted to be between 3 and 5 inches, public and parochial schools in the city, as well as students in many suburban districts, had the day off. Many ventured out to make the most of their snow day.
The snow was expected to continue throughout the day, eventually changing over to sleet and perhaps rain by early evening.
Follow our full coverage of the storm with updates throughout the day here. And if you're looking to venture out to grab a drink and bite to eat, these local places are offering "snow day specials."
Below is a collection of photos from around the city.
