Phish drummer featured at Sanders voter registration event in Northern Liberties

Jon Fishman will appear at event to take place at North Bowl bowling alley

People went nuts when a little bird made an appearance at a Bernie Sanders rally this weekend. But how about a Phish?

Jon Fishman, drummer for the band Phish, will appear at a voter registration event being held by the Sanders campaign at a bowling alley in Northern Liberties on Monday.

Monday is the very last day that people can register if they want to vote in the April 26 primary, so it might be a good idea to check out the event whether you feel the Bern or don't.

It will be held at North Bowl, 909 N. Second St., from 9 p.m. to midnight. For the early birds, Fishman will also appear 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Philly Sweettooth, 650 S. Fourth St., for a meet-and-greet and voter registration event.

Fishman is a native of Philadelphia, but the band formed in the 80's in Sanders' home state of Vermont. They even have a Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor named in their honor: "Phish Food."

According to Sanders' campaign website, his team also is planning numerous other registration events at colleges around the city on Monday, including the Community College of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel and Temple.
