The apprentice role is a full-time position earning $17.13/hour, and apprentices will have the opportunity to become full-performance tradespersons with a focus on welding or shipbuilding. Apprentices are represented by the Metal Trades Council and received wage increases as they progress through the three-year apprenticeship.
